I've sprayed the base color, finally I went for a desaturated green, spraying thin coats of nato-green mix with about 15% yellow green. I'll use a very dilluted yellow green to highlight the center of panels and other area that needs it.

Here is what it will look like with tracks on, still need to finish return rollers. After I finish the two side I'll paint some details, highlights and seal it up.

Thanks Guys!
The tracks where primed neutral grey then preshaded. afterward it was a good old Tam red brown (pick that up from Gary). I've dry brushed metalic grey where the metal meet and there will be a dark wash followed by a chrome silver drybrush on the exterior of the tracks to highlight the raised parts.

Thanks Mauro!
I'm having second tought on highlighting... I'm affraid it's gonna turn yellow. Maybe I'll go with washes and some umber filter and then see if hilight are necessary.
What do you all think?
Phil.

The best method of highlighting I've found is to mask off the corners, before you spray your top cote. Paint the corners white. You may still be able to achieve this by the same method. Simply don't remove the masking, after you have sprayed it white and lay down another top cote over it.

Hi Matt.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. If I highlight it will be the center of the panels that will be lighter and from what I'm reading and understanding of your method it would be the corners that are highlithed?..
Sorry if I'm confused...You have a pic?
Thanks
Phil.

A small update for the kv-1!
I've glued the tracks and return rollers, painted some details and I think I'm ready for gloss.
If someone see something I should do prior gloss just tell me.
![](https://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/27833/details021.jpg)
![](https://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/27833/details011.jpg)
I must admit that those rugged tanks did not have a lot of details showing, when you compare it to the german ones. Simple, efficient, brutal!
Ho! I finally got myself some real pe tools! A small pe rolling station. That will come in handy for my E. German t-72 with extras that i'm building next
Lets say it is my Russian period.

Excellent work my friend!! Its really comin' to life!
I agree with Mauro - dark wash and some highlight drybrushing on the tracks would look amazing, if you havent already had plans for that - which you probably did.
Where did you nab tha PE tools? Me likes!!!

Hi Mauro!
Thanks Mate.
Indeed after the gloss coat there will be a dark wash on the track as well as pin washes overall. And dry brush is always on the menu at my shop.

Here is an update!
I've gloss coat everythig, then, washed the tracks and mounted the fenders. that is where poop hitted the fan...I've used ca glue to mount the fenders and on the first one it bursted about everywhere
and the second one it blubed over the front bracket... See for youreself.
![](https://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/27833/ca_bs.jpg)
Do you think if i gloss over it it will tone down?
I'm really in the wild on this one...Hmmm C.A. glue...
I've put on the decals, lots of knifing involved since I have no Microsol...soon.
![](https://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/27833/decals011.jpg)
Hand painted the removed parts.
![](https://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/27833/decals021.jpg)
Here is where I'm at. Pin washes are next.
