The Kinetic M109A2 is pretty good. It is slightly more detailed than the old Italeri kit. The boomerang-shaped cover for the flotation system is gone, as it should be for an M109A2 and onward. As with Kinetic's M-ATV, the details look a little soft.

The tracks are so-so. The pieces around the sprockets and idlers are indi-link with separate end connectors. Those areas look good. The long, straight pieces are one-piece with molded on end connectors that don't look as good.

The road wheels and sprocket are really nice. The idlers look really good with the lightening holes on them. The road wheels and idler are molded as multiple parts to allow better details too.

It also has anti-slip molded on. Additionally, all hatches are openable and have interior details on them. All tools are also separate pieces and attachment points are molded on nicely so the tools can be added or left off.

I like it.

Anyone know how closely this matches a Canadian version?

you can buy the Kinetic indie track set for $7 at Luckymodel, which improves the look of the track. Also, Eduard is releasing a PE set for it next month

??Do you mean the Skunkmodel Workshop ones? They're link and length, and aren't they the same ones as in the kit? I'd go for the AFV Club tracks for an A2-A4.

They are the same, but you get more sprues, so you can build entire track runs from individual links. The "length" sections remain unused.

Yes, Skunkworks. It's a little confusing on how they did it, but like Vodnik said there are enough indies to discard the length parts
