Hi all, this has most likely been discussed already but I am unable to find anything.

I am about to commence the AMX 30 B2 but I am unsure of what the correct colours are and the instructions are some what vague.

Thank in advance.

A good match for the French sand would be Desert Yellow with some Flat Yellow added.
The brown I usually use is Red brown.
All refs are Tamiya.

Here is my rendering of the French desert camo

Hi Olivier
If your sand colour looks spot on , i thinks that the real brown is more "chocolate brown" than red brown.
No?

Thanks Olivier and Stéphane,
I had a feeling it would be a snap for you French chaps.

Oliver have you got a tread link for your AMX 30?

Cheers

David

Hello David,
you can see more pictures in my site, just click on my banner and go to "the kits" section. There are other models of the AMX30 B2 to see (not all in the Desert configuration though)

There are also a number of models in various French forums. I'll try to get you the direct links tonight.

Here is a link to a thread in a French forum. You will see some pictures of the additions that the modeler made to the Heller kit.

I should have asked before but I suppose you're building the "new" Heller kits with PE and resin bits. If so, the resin parts will save you some extra work more especially on the engine and rear decks.
