I've not posted on Armorama for a while, most of my stuff nowadays goes on HF. I thought I'd put this one up to see what the armour guys think. It's one I've just finished for the Airborne 3 Campaign. Another DML conversion.
And this is how it started off.....
Over to you, Ladies & Gentlemen....
All the best,
Gary

WOW. This is amazing. I especially like the tally marks on the door, very clever. I actually finished the Normandy FJ kit today that I started months ago. How did you do the Splinter pattern? And what colors did you use for it? I can't seem to get it right.
Again, this is awesome.

Hi Gary. Good job on both the conversion and the camo. Cool figure and way more dynamic than it was originally.

Guys,
Thanks for the feedback on this one.
Conor, All I did for the splinter pattern was to go by Andy Evans' feature over on HF! http://hfmodeling.kitmaker.net/features/3810
Believe me, I've a long way to go before getting to that standard!
Now, let's see your pics, buddy!
Christopher, yes,it's 1/35.
I personally think that a lot of folks pass over the older styrene figs. If you are prepared to put in a bit of effort in bringing them up to today's standard, it's possible to get a satisfying result.
Thanks again guys,
Gary

Awww, I was hoping you wouldn't point me in that direction. That work seems lightyears out of my league But oh well, practice makes perfect I suppose.

The conversion of the figure's pose is really spot-on, very natural looking and the expression on his face just tops it all off. The equipment and uniform is also nicely detailed and painted plus the scene has some neat touches like the tally on the wood. Excellent stuff and I agree with Christopher- you should post more of your work here on armorama.
