I did a search and did find a couple of threads on this, but the photos are long gone. And I do have an explanation of the stenciling placed on the bottom of duffle bags during OIF, but I would still like to see a photo if anyone can post one. Thanks!

Yes, Pete, a photo would help. I do have an explanation but I would like to see a photo to put two and two together. Thanks.

Here's a nice assortment (from http://totallycoolpix.com/2011/12/us-military-leaves-iraq/ )
"Duffel bags belonging to soldiers from the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, are stacked for departure at the nearly deserted Camp Adder, now known as Imam Ali Base, near Nasiriyah December 16, 2011" :

The markings would vary from unit to unit. For instance, 3ID's markings would be different from 1AD's markings.
In my last unit, it was the CARC sand bottom with the first letter of your last name with the last four #'s of the SSN on the top line.
In the middle would be a 3 inch dot showing what platoon you were with (Red= 1st, White= 2nd, Blue= 3rd, Green= 4th, Black= HQ)
Bottom line was troop, squadron, and regiment EX: G2/2ACR (Ghost Troop, 2nd Squadron, 2nd ACR)
This would change with each new regimental commander / CSM though.
