I'm happy about this release. I like post-war French armour but there is very little of it about, less still any of decent quality.
I saw the Meng pre-release display model at Telford and it looks VERY nice. And having a real AMX 30 right next to their stand was a nice touch and a great bit of marketing!
I'll be buying one for sure.
And as for the tracks question, Friul do a set for the AMX 30.

I do not know anything about the AMX-30. Could it be possible to use the Meng chassis for an AUF-1?
For an early AUF-1, it could be possible providing the turret well has the appropriate diameter.
Anyway, the front deck of the SPG is different than the MBT one so you still have some extra work to do.

Thank You for the information, Olivier. It seems I will have to do some research.

I think they announced the T-90 back when they did simply because of Zvezda's announcement.. and it was probably still in the early stages of development
Of course, it would be great if I were wrong.. and the T-90 turns out to be their next release after the AMX
Hisham
...as far as I remember they've announced theyr t-90 before Zvezda Anyway, I might be wrong
However, regarding the AMX, it's good to have a new subject available

...as far as I remember they've announced theyr t-90 before Zvezda
Zvezda announced their T-90 back when dinosaurs walked the earth. When they finally got around to release the kit and showed photos of a test build T-90, that's when Meng showed some CAD images (last November if I remember correct).
The new MENG kit looks fantastic! I've considered getting the old Heller kit for so long but everytime I've looked in the box I've put it back on the shelf as it just looked like to much work. And now, patience pay off! Fingers crossed for a Chieftain to be next... (althought I wouldn't mind the T-90 as well)
Cheers,
/E

Hi all, I like to see the AMX 30 and hope like others to see a decent Chieftain from one of these manufacturers. Really would appreciate to see a Mk. 11 with TOGS and Stillbrew. By using old Tamiya parts all variants can be done with such new kit. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I am very happy for this release. Now if only there was a 70's/80's era French tank crew to use with it...

"Back in the Day" I built the Heller AMX30 and the Azimut AMX30B2 conversion. I used the Desert Storm markings/color scheme and it looked fantastic. It would be nice to see the B2 variant at the least or a conversion for the Meng Kit.
