AFV Club recently released some updated images of an upcoming SPG, and I must say a few shots impressed me.

The 50 cal mount surprised me in the main photo.
I look forward to this as there is an exceptional mount of detail. They are doing a super job so far .
Thanks AFV club.

A previously released image shows a M1A1 collimator..Does this mean they have changed their mind ?

It is looking really nice. The .50 cal mount is really wird and not a standard mount. I like the breech on the gun. It is really detailed. With it and the open engine and battery compartment hatches, I wonder if they will include an interior. I hope so.

Count me in! I am impressed and hopefully thier experience with the tracks will be transfered to this kit. AFV always seems to step up with something I just have to have.

...it resembles the M63 anti-aircraft mount and the Browning M2 is the aircraft version

Yup, but that mount hasn't really been used since WWII and is not used with am M109 Howitzer. I hope they keep the collimator. It is a much more fitting accessory for the howitzer.

My Dutch Artillery battery had several of these .50 mounts when I was there in the early nineties

Well, not in US Army artillery units anyways.

So, it's a pretty neat addition to the kit if they include non-US decal options.
As a side note the mount was in use by US forces in both Korea and Vietnam (non-arty perhaps) and I have been looking for one for a wihle. The quest seem to be over.
Back to the kit: I really like what I see! My credit card is ready...

They will certainly include Taiwanese option and my guess is that this is the reason for the M63 mount inclusion - probably Taiwanese Army uses them.

I have one on pre-order already, but now seriously consider ordering at least two more

Finally it looks like both the collimator and the AA gun mount will be included
