Just got mine in the mail today.

Lower hull looks nice, rear is molded on.

Upper hull

detail

Where the two halves meet, might need some care here.

Wheels

Big o' bag of indy tracks

side skirt detail

turret

clear sprue for all the periscopes and lenses

metal gun included

Just for fun....
Kit looks good as always. Not too many parts, though there are a few small delicate pieces.

Thanks a lot for the pics!
No interior is provided? I don't go for interiors normally but for this vehicle with all the hatches/doors it would be great...
Cheers,
Christophe

I had hoped for something of an interior too. Since you can have the rear hatches open! Kind of pointless if there's nothing in there. Hopefully someone will come around with an interior set. Shame really, nothing whatsoever of an interior.

It is a shame that there isn't an interior included. I have an old AEF Designs BMP-1 Interior that I hope will fit it. It is designed for the Dragon BMP-1 kit.

I reckon there's a lot of wallets not feeling too great about this release!

I had pre-ordered it from Hobby Search. Since I buy stuff there every so often, I get a news letter from them with new releases and I knew I wanted that BMP-1.

I've been wanting a BMP-1 for ages. I'd never seen one at a show. As soon as Trumpeter release their's, I find two old Dragon ones for £5 each at Scale Model World. Typical.
Thanks for sharing, it looks great!

Those tracks look workable. They have little raised pins and holes on each link. Are they?
Thanks

Hadn't looked closely at the tracks yet. Looking at them they have little bumps and holes on each end of the tack so I think you may be right.

I really hope so, but it seems to me that holes and bumps look too small to make the track links workable

Instead I can notice that cleaning them from the sprue attachments is likely to be quite boring indeed
Anyway I'm really happy that the old DML kit is finally ready for the "retirement"

Oh, curse you Trumpeter! Another kit that I will have to add to my growing pile of shame.
Keeping up hope they will release a BMP-2 next year, along with a new T-72 family.

I'm not sure if it's just the photos but it seems like the surfaces have a rough, pebbled surface? Weird little mold imperfections on that road wheel too. Hopefully not all the molds will be like that.

Nice looking kit, but bad... that there is no interior.

Yes, the BMP-2 seems to be around the corner, but I found "only" an image of an "in progress" BMP-2D. (up-armoured version)

Now that's a really nice release. Maybe in the very distant future.

I would really like to see it with a movable Commander's cupola though. Why did they have the front half molded on, anyway?

Apparently, Trumpeter has produced a set of workable track links for the BMP-1, they were released even before their BMP-1 kit, although they've become scarce lately. Wonder why they didn't include them in the kit?
