Hi everyone I am having some problems with the IR stowage box for my panther G. Mostly, that I cant figure out what the latch is supposed to look like, I am using the Alliance Model Works PE.
The instructions show:
I can not figure out how the assembly using part B64 is supposed to be in relation to the other parts.
I have looked through my reference material and searched extensivly online and can't find any good pictures of either the real thing or a model of this box, or even a decent drawing.
If anyone has built this PE set, has a good pic of what it should look like, I would appreciate any help.
Thank you
James

Maybe this will help.
I have found several photos of the IR equipment box, but none are perfectly clear enough to see the latch in perfect detail.
However, on the (now defunct) Panther El-Mito website, there was this graphic which shows a good and reasonable (IMO) estimate of what the mechanism looked liked.
The AM-Works detail parts were a pretty fair interpretation when the set was designed, and I think that they could be modified to look more like the El-Mito graphic. In the end, though, I'm not sure that anyone can say with 100% certainty what all the details of the box were.
