I like these videos it gives us all a good look at the kits contents and instructions, nice job. I think that marketing this kit by Amusing Hobby is a good move on their part.

Jim, this vehicle was never built. There were many proposals submitted by Krupp with differing main guns. Other than the basic shape of the vehicle many features in the kit are factious on the part of the manufacture for example the rear decks design does not exist on any of the original documents obtained after the war and the Tiger II road wheels were not even on the drawing boards at the time this vehicle was being designed or when the concept was finally cancelled.

The up side of this kit is that the modeler can use his / her imagination and build a ‘What – if’ or chose to put together something coming close to authentic had this vehicles design matured and actually gone into production.

I’m glad to see that a manufacture has taken the risk of presenting us with a plastic kit of this purposed vehicle – VK70.01 Löwe.

I'm also looking forward to this kit. It pretty well looks like a direct copy of the Loewe in the game World of Tanks, which Mr. Starkweather mentions in the video. Without actually getting my hands on the kit and building it, the only issue I have so far is the tracks. While most of the suspension appears to be engineered so that it's workable, I imagine the tracks will be difficult to make workable. Aside from that, it looks to be a pretty good kit.

According to Wikipedia:The Panzerkampfwagen VII Löwe (Lion) was a design for a Super Heavy Tank created by Krupp for the Nazi German government during World War II. The project, initially code-named VK 7001 (K), never left the drawing board, and was dropped in late 1942 in favor of the Panzer VIII Maus.

The Löwe was designed in two variants:
Leichter Löwe – crew of five, 1000-hp engine, weight of 76 tons, 100mm frontal armor, rear-mounted turret, 105 mm L/70 high velocity gun and a coaxial machine gun, top speed 27 km/h.
Schwerer Löwe – crew of five, 1000-hp engine, weight of 90 tons, 120mm frontal armor, center-mounted turret, 105 mm L/70 high velocity gun and a coaxial machine gun, top speed 23 km/h.

When shown the designs, Adolf Hitler ordered the Leichter Löwe dropped and the Schwerer Löwe re-designed with a 150mm main gun, 140mm frontal armor, and a top speed of 30 km/h.

No prototype of either design was ever built. Some elements of the Schwerer Löwe design were used in the Tiger II.

I also would like to add that the VK series was also put out by Hobby Boss as Kit # 82444 & 82445.

I don't mean to be a pain but why not open the bags before doing the video? Also going through the kit and trying to learn what the pieces actually are first would help......

Thanks for the feedback. There are two reasons primarily.

Time. It would take longer to do each video and time is not something I have a lot of.

The effect of a first impression. The videos are suppose to be demonstrating exactly how the kit comes in the box. So going through it in advance somewhat nullifies that effect both visually and via my verbal remarks.

I am not doing these videos as a subject expert (that much I make pretty clear). The minute a better solution becomes available (ie: someone who can make better videos that actually show the parts up close and in good detail, etc.) I will be happy to go that route. So far the only other video any member of KitMaker has offered is Sven Harjacek on AeroScale.

Could be a good review but the way things zoom in or swim out of the camera leave me feeling distinctly sea-sick. Also agree with Mailman 7, open the poly bags before doing the review.

I must say that your presentation quality is quite poor. Same excuses about the camera were presented in the last review you did. 'Uhm' was stated several times making the commentary very broken, disjointed. The barrel was never shown or described. How was it presented, split in half, was calibre was it, 105 or 128. A few issues that should be cleared up for the next presentation you do. Thanks

I believe this is more of an "unofficial look inside" than any formal type of review.

I like it sounding just as it is than with maybe a professional narrator.

Just a heads up as I will be doing a video unboxing of the new T-28 kit from Dragon. I will *not* be opening the box prior to the review being shot. Thus the bags will amazingly *not* be opened. Also since I don't write a script for the video the term 'Umm' may be uttered once or twice as I am doing something called talking 'ad lib'. As for the quality of the video please show me yours and I will compare and make improvements where yours is better.

Hmm, looks an interesting kit. Jim I think the presentation is just fine. Maybe you should try "Cracking the box" on one of the DML monster boxes - best of look getting it all back in mind! I think the kit in the bags is just right, it's what the buyer would find when opening the box too.

It still surprises me, some of the comments that are being made here. Is it so necessary to be told everything, and have everything so perfect? Most are just glad to get a chance to see whats in the box. Anybody who has built a few kits before will have a really good idea after watching this video. Remember, somebody (Jim in this case) has given up their free time to do this for YOU.
