Hi!

I have a doubt about the color of the collar of the following Waffen SS Gebirgsjager figure:

http://www.alpineminiatures.com/imagepages/16005.html

Shouldn't the color be grass (dark) green?

Thanks in advance!

No, the collar is fine as shown. The Waffen-SS did have the dark green collar early in the war when their fast expansion necessitated the use of the Heer field blouse. As soon as possible, the collar was to match the body of the field blouse. Some enlisted men and NCO's continued to wear the dark green collar on field uniforms but it was non regulation. The officer's field blouse usually sported the dark green collar but the regulations were frequently changed with conflicting results.

Thank you Ron for your comment!

I have the same figure to paint; I was asking because every picture I could see of Gebirgsjager regular troops have the dark green collar, but I couldn't tell if Waffen SS mountain troops wear the same blouse (the Alpine figure is so perfectly detailed that I found difficult to believe that they painted it with the wrong colors).
