Fantastic build Bill. Look forward to seeing it painted up!! Are you going to build all pzr IV versions, as you did with the Tiger?

Looking great with all that PE work. Painting should prove to be somewhat a challenge with all those small wheels and tires. Looking forward to following your build to it's finish.

Hi Steve, Greg, Frank & Joel

Many thanks for your support. I will get round to painting one time...the wheels shouldn't be too much of a problem: they are all fixed & I have a technique of painting everything in place.

Hi Frank: I am afraid so, yes - well done for second guessing me (you are obviously a hard-wired Panzer-nut like me). I have finished the Tiger trail for a while, have taken a 6 month moggelling sabbatical & am now back to my moggelling first love: Panzer IV. I have to do:

F1
G early (L/43)
G early-late (spilt cupola, no turret ring, L/48 & Schurzen)
G late
G late (mix & match)
H very early
H early
H mid/late
H late
J initial
J mid
J late mid
J final

...and a B

So there. This build pre-dates all of that run: it was one I put together just before I started Tiger Evolution, but never got around to putting it infront of a camera.

Now I'm back off my modelling leave I am raring to go: I am assembling 6560 with Voyager PE 35327 & Ostketten Friuls and blogging it on MilMod (oops). If anybody is interested in me co-blogging on here, just let me know & I will put up some pictures for you.

Thanks & all the best.

Abyssinia!

Hi Bill. Make no apologies for building so many panzer IVs. Coolest of them all, in my opinion.

Im interested. My time is quite limited so I dont have time to browse every site for threads, but I always call in here for a quick peep. Would love to follow your builds, especailly when you go into details. Just my kinda threads!!

Just for completeness, here is a CH Panzer IV Ausf J, initial that I built a year or so ago (I think it was a mixture of Voyager & Griffon PE):

I hope you like it!

Hi frank: thanks for that mate.

Warren: I like Dunkelgelb. I have a Cyber Hobby Ausf B to build with all the trimmings, but will probably do a two-tone Normandy version. I sold all the others in my stash...oops.

Ciao!

Hi Guys

A small update on DML6560 with Voyager PE.

The exhaust tube is fashioned out of an offcut from the Nickel/Alu Schurzen carrier from the base kit.

Cheers & Happy New Year!

Very impressive! I tried a pound of pe on a Pz.IV and burned myself out of anything to do with brass. Can't wait to see some paint on it! I think. You have far too many builds posted in the same thread.

Hi Robert

My tips are these:

Don't panic.

Use good tools (but not too many).

Get used to your tools, glues & soldering eqpt.

Read the instructions many times and keep all references to hand.

Try to be methodical.

Repeating a subject will help: not only will you increase your knowledge-base of that AFV, but also your skills will improve faster on the second, third etc build.

Choose a subject that is widely modelled: you'll get more help.

Use Voyager PE and use a good base kit.

thanks Bill - the PE is Eduard as that is what was shipped with the kit I bought... for a first time I think it is quite comprehensive and will allow me to see if it is something i can work on. Not sure on soldering yet - will try just with glue but....

It looks wonderful very detailed. Just got the Dragon kit for IV and am waiting for some supplies to get started. How do you attach the metal etched parts, I have some but have never worked with them before.
