yeah, what he said! Putting Fruils on the current kits (barring buying SP's resin updates) is like putting lipstick on a pig. An ugly pig. . .

I always feel like you guys are so careful around me!

We will see if these tracks are worth it. Hard to see how they get the double pin effect without separate end connectors...and without that, well, the howling will unending over how incorrect the tracks are...

I have 3 sets of the T-80 sector 35 tracks they go toghter with out drilling and the side linkon one side has a locateing pin and the other side has the hole for the wire, also the control horn is hollow. I really like the sector 35 they are easyer and faster to go toghter

Not to get off topic, but... Who makes the AMX 13? Is the kit any good?

For me Fruils have priced themselves out of my market.I really can't bear to add 40-50$ to the price of a build.I loved them at 30-40 for special occasions, but not anymore.

I do agree !
Far too expensive, even here in Europe.

About the T-80, what do I need to build a first Chechen war model ?
Or a Cyprus one ?
I believe the Skif kit is a better starting point.
Then SP Design kits but which one(s) ?

Jacques, if you could tell me...

T-80B were the only T-80 in the first Chechen war. Only the ancient DML/Zvezda kit is available right now for a -B.

For a Cyprus T-80u, they come in 3 (!) flavors: 1. Would be SP Designs kit 216 (soon to be re-released) with the IR light, 2. would be kit 221 WITHOUT the IR light, and 3 would be a modification of kit 221 with the Schtora emitters. It will depend on what you want to do, but yes, the SKIF kit is the better starting point.

Hello Mauro,

Fruil produced a set of tracks for the AMX 30 this year and
we got a nice surprise from Meng a couple of weekends ago now it could be a coincidence of Fruil are getting a heads up when it comes to new stuff from certain manufacturers..... and a new AMX 13 would go down a treat.

As for the end connectors on the T-80 double end track as Jacques mentioned I think that the enc connectors on Sherman VVSS track has the same problem and Fruil have quite a lot of that type in production and l havent read any complaints.

Oh, I agree with you Anto, I do not see it as a problem and consider it to be a compromise between true reality and modeling...I am just suggesting that there are often huge blow ups over the smallest details, especially in Russian related armor, lately.

Yes Jacques I thought thats what you ment...

As for the blow-ups about the tiniest things... well you and l and most others build models.... not kits...
So we appriciate the the work others do to make modeling
a bit easier... and therefor have little time for "blow ups" about things that l cant change or can fix myself.

Let the war begin

Here are Sector 35 T-80 tracks, no drilling only 1 hole for cut wire and then I seal with a little CA and use Novacan
Blac Patina 8 0z for less than $4.00
Oh swiped wifes camera, thew mine over the hill last night.

in my opion Sector 35 is the easyest to work with, but a little pricey , 2nd would be Spade Ace, and 3rd yould be Fruil, but this is my opion only I hope this sows some comparsion, and forgive my spelling
