i would like to thank everyone who has helped me so far with all my questions regards to painting scale properly. i find trying to learn all these amazing teqniques that you guys have all master'd or have been workkng at mastering very difficult for a newb to pick up on and all the terms for filters and washes and dry brush and i still dont understand pin washing lol . i went to mig,s blog and picked up a bit from there but what is colour modulation? lol anyway i know i need to slow down and K.I.S.S! becUse what fun is it to paint and build all stressed out over colour and weathering. so i will continue to build and paint but not really worry that my tank is not looking like the ones done by the ppros afterall were all doing this for our own reasons and mine is stress relief. so again to all who helped thank u so much for ur knowledge and experience. i will try n start a blog for very green noobs like myself who get lost in translation with all the amazing info available that can easily overwhelm you. thank you

Terry;
If you haven't yet checked out the painting forums thread on weathering sequence you should. Matt is very good about answering questions there too. Most of the guys are really great about answering questions, even ones that have been asked a thousand times. I just got back into this in late 2010 and have learned tons just from the site. Good luck and remember its supposed to be fun. Cheers.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Just keep reading and trying and not really worrying too much. Think of it as a learning process that has one heck of a curve to it.
Then, as you get better you could line up all the kits that you have built, painted, and weathered; and set them up as almost a time lapse type display, going from "This is where I started" to "This is where I am now". Pretty cool idea actually, I think I might have to do that..... Keep at it and I'm sure you'll be turning out impressive pieces in no time!
