Thanks for the review and the images Kevin. It does look great ... will definately be buying this one.
You wrote "I found a few images labeled Ausf.A, but the vehicle had different idler wheels and sprockets. I assumed it was from refitting of the vehicle, or an image of the Ausf.B mis-labeled". I always thought all the early Pz.Kpfw IVs (A-E) used the same idler, and the drive sprocket was the same A-D?
Im also wondering if the ejection mark on the inside center of the shell basket will even be seen when built and the view limited from the open turret doors and gun breach? One thing I know for sure is that the extra sprues and plastic do not cost Dragon more, in fact it is the complete opposite. They´re there because this is the cheapest way for them to include the necessary parts. To modify tooling to have just the right parts only to save a relatively small amount of plastic is not a saving.
As a pzr IV lover, its great to get all these parts, including 2 sets of tools ... with clamps and without. Great kit ... I agree.
Sorry if this sounds like Im being nitty ... have a lot of these kits and built a few of them as well, and whan a similar kit is released you´re always checking to see if they do really include all the cool extras.
A tip for those not comfortable working with so much small etch ... forget the all etch clamps ... just glue the etch handle onto the tool with the plastic clamps. Looks great without all the fuss.
