Trumpeter just came out with a new T-64, with another one coming out early next year.
Ditto on the BMP 1, just came out about a week ago, BTR-60, they have released 3 different versions.
No new T-72 or T-80 as of yet...give them time I am sure they will put out a bunch. Considering they have been asking people if they happen to have a picture of some hatch on a T-80B....seems they are working on one of those.

good news for me if they gonna release a T-80~
I still prefer to see T-72 first, but no worry they will come eventually

My understanding is that the T72 wasn't that successful? I was looking at some photos posted before under I see your ambitious project & raise it & wasn't sure what the main tanks were of if they are all just a mixture?

Actually the T-72 was a great tank, far more good than the T-64. It's quite strange that some company haven't done a new tool yet
Anyway, there's the Tamiya kit which is quite good, but has to be modified to represent a Russian exemplar.
In the pics of the abandoned Russian factory there are lots of T-64Bs and T-72-Bs

Mauro,
Could the new Trumpy T64 be used to replicate the T64's in the photos & what would need to be done to make a couple of decent T72s that would look the same as the photos?
I was thinking about doing a scaled down version after what you & Phil were talking about
Cheers Mike

Regarding the T-64 I think you should wait for the T-64 1975 kit which would be available in December.
And maybe you have also to use some Miniarm stuff. I'm sure that Trumpeter will release almost all the T-64 versions... But we have to wait
Otherwise you can use the Skif kits....but they're quite bad.
For the T-72 I've already answered to you in the other thread.
Anyway to make several T-72s, it would be possible also to use the old DML-Revell-Zvezda kits...but they're very incorrect

To get other references look here

I might be wrong but it seems to me that those are the tanks seen in the pics

you know, why don't you do a trumpy T-64s(already on retail) and then a trumpy BMP-1(decemeber 2012) and wait for trumpy BMP-2 and T-72 and T-80? I'm not saying that trumpy has the best quality of modeling, but it's weird no companies make a decent soviet cold war era MBTs over 20 years......I'm sure trumpy will occupy entire cold-war-theme market in next 5 years

Hi Dave,
I will more than likely wait unless I can pick up some cheap Tamiya T72s at some up & coming swap meets, If it takes me a year or so to get what I need that will be ok, give me time to improve my skill level!!!
Cheers Mike
