I built this newish trumpeter kit recently - it is packed with detail about 400 parts on this very small AFV.

The instructions don't tell you to add the winch rope - so i did this later.

I just liked the look of this one - and Trumpeter have really got up a few notches with the detail in this one - the photo - etch is a bit tricky as a trade-off though. I have no idea what that thing is on the roof - rifle rack??

anyways pictures - Im painting it soon.

The racks at the Puma's roof are suports to towing hooks as exist in Centauro's roof. Look:

Hi Mark,
Thanks for sharing. I really like this vehicle and I'm glad to see what's in the box. It looks like it can be build with out too much after market parts. Do you know if there are other variants of this vehicle, like the HUMVEE.

That's a good looking build mark.. nice kit.

Trumpeter is going to release the 6X6 version also

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/200130&page=1

and Djiti's Production is working on some modern Italian soldiers to go with it.

Very nice, clean build.
Thanks for sharing Mark.

Will you do an UN white version from Unifil/Lebanon?

cheers

Very nice build indeed!

Is there anything for the interior in the kit?

Richard , Marco , Kurt, Hisham, Walter and Oykun!

Hisham - some Italian troops would really compliment this AFV - thats great news!

Walter - Yes Im painting UNIFIL version - just for challenge!

Oykun - no interior is provided except the inside of the hatches. But this one looks good buttoned up.

many thanks Gents

Hakan and Chris - many thanks

very simple scheme - just the UN white scheme. So a good white primer really makes this an easy job. Followed with Mr Color White.

The varnish is a must for the weathering stages. Im using a satin varnish for this model. very few decals to apply.

the masking is removed from the AFV`s optics and the front weather screen.

next the wash is applied. more like a pin wash but also overall in some areas

so the very first steps are complete -

Looks like Trumpeter got inspired by the walkaround I posted on my site !

If you need some inspiration for the weathering you can have a look at my WA.

This one is on my Xmas wish list. I keep my fingers crossed.

Mark, excellent weathering start!
I#m curious how it will come out when finished ;-)

@Olivier .. your website with all the nice walk arounds ist a great help for weathering UN vehicles. I often stop there to get information and inspiration (as actually with the UN Centauro!). Thanks a lot for all your work you put into the website!!

Cheers

Olivier ! that is a wealth of information ! I actually kept all chipping very constrained - but in reality this AFV has had a hard life.

I will get some more of this WIP up later. But I finished model this weekend. I will get some pictures up later - but mine is looking a lot fresher than the photos.

For sure they used your walk around the box art matched one of your photos exactly !

many thanks

this is how it looks after second stage of weathering

I will take some pictures to show finished model - but think i may add further chips after Olivier`s pictures

This is a superb build Mark- I didn't think this kit had actually hit the market yet but I'm glad to see it being built up. The build stage was very clean and, as you mentioned, there seems to be plenty of detail on what is not a very large vehicle. I was hoping you'd do this in white when I started reading the page and you've got one very fine finish on your hands there- the dust is very realistic. A real gem of a build here Mark, congrats!

The weathering is already convincing Mark. This is just a detail but don't forget to paint the caps of the smoke grenade launchers "dirty black".

That is one of the best weathered white vehicles I've seen. I'm always afraid to do white paint jobs because I don't think I can make it look realistic.

Great work all around!

Nice job!

I would have made the top a bit less dirty/dusty for contrast as per Olivier's photos, but that's just personal preference.

Thanks for sharing your build.

Cheers,

Christophe
