Looks fantastic. Good to see something organic other than people in a diorama every once and a while.
What cheek! Let them have it!

Hi Henrik,
Saw it alreday on ML
Well done overall. Nice building with an interesting Layout.
Nice pile of woods also.
How far to the inside did you detail your barn to satisfy curious modellers views?.

This is a really fantastic scene- fantastically laid out and very engaging for the viewer- the detail on the buildings, the figures and the AFV are sublime and things are well laid out to give the best views. Excellent stuff!

Thank you all for your nice comments.
Claude, the barn is detailed inside. But only the parts that is visible. There is detailed walls, a broken cart and some other stuff.

I love it! Very original. Nice, clean build with subtle weathering. Must be a holiday to call for such a big bird, not to mention two.

Thanks!
Johan, I search through my picture archive and see what pictures I have of the inside. I actually don't remember if I took some pictures of the interior.

Love it Henrik.....,
everything from the groundwork to the painting & weathering on the barn, the figures to the simple story itself...!! Maybe would've been nice to have some poor old farmer arguing trying to get his geese back....?? But all in all it's very well put together and executed....
Excellent work

Hello Henrik – my grandfather was born in the Langenes/Oksnes area.
I will compliment this for the spatial design, in particular the sculptural (his profession) qualities of the structure, with the alternating direction and varied angles of the roofline. The angled orientation on the base only adds to the visual complexity – and satisfaction.
I assume the structure is all scratchbuilt. I know that plastic can be made to look like wood, but think there is nothing like the real thing – I hope I’m right ;-) I’m curious about your brick technique – I especially like the clean lines at the corner.
The only thing that I don’t understand is the middle part of the building, with the open door behind the soldier holding the goose. It seems to be floating in air, so I wonder if you had planned some foundation here that you later decided to leave out for some reason?

Thanks for your constructive comments!
@Simon: A farmer could be a nice idea. But I'm afraid that this project is done

@Charles: Oh... Langenes is far up north. I live in Oslo, a 20 hour drive further south

The building is scratch build. You can se a bit more of the process here:
http://www.little-norway.org/forum/index.php?topic=405.0http://scalemodelling.info/?cat=5I made the inner structure in a material called foam board.
http://scalemodelling.info/?p=42The wooden boards are basswood strips treated with white acryllics and black ink. You can see the process here:
http://scalemodelling.info/?p=59The bricks are made from cutting the bricks in a block of styrofoam. Then the entire block was primed black, then painted with various rust/brick colors. The mortar between the bricks are plaster. As a final treatment, I applied a few washes and streaks.
The middle part actually has a foundation. You just don't see it very well on the photos. It's painted in a pretty dark grey color.
Hope this answers some of your questions. If not, feel free to ask
