I'm starting my first diorama portraying the european front. Here are my current plans. How accurate to real life positioning would this be? The German's behind the fence will have a panzershrek or panzerfaust, which I think will even the odds a bit.

I think this would have a degree of accuracy. Crossfire effect going on which is common for an ambush scenario. Germans behind fence have escape route behind them. If the house dwellers have an escape route I think it would be accurate.

Just my opinion though. A military man may tell you better.

G'day Arznek, looks good, the only thing i find wrong with the situation is the Sherman, seings it is on a road, they would cleary see the road blocks up ahead, and the fact that they cant go left or right because of the wall and building, my point is, why would the sherman be going up there in the first place if it cant get through?
those are my thoughts, good luck

Point taken lestweforget. Maybe I'll have a broken area in the fence which they can get through. The reason I pulled the Sherman up there in the first place was to knock out the MG42.

It's vectors from jasc psp7.04 - besides modeling I like doing digital vector art. Here is a taste > http://users.customize.org/Arznek

The base size hasn't been decided yet. When I get my buildings completed I'll judge the size then. I've got a large clear picture frame that I'll probably use. I think it's 10x14 or 12x14

Maybe you could have the houses on a curved road instead of a straight one. That way the Sherman crew couldn't see the road block until it was too late. Just a thought.

Seems well thought over...
What will that "fence" look like ? A wire fence or a wall structure ? If it 's a wall, the position of those germans would be OK. Gives them a degree of shelter they can ambush the Sherman from... for a while.
I wouldn't be there if that was a wire fence of sorts : that would be suicide !

A concrete wall about 2 or 3 feet high and decorative iron fencing on top
