I was given this today, as the guy who owned it recently passed away. And it was given to me as I have an interest in German vehicles. I must admit he made a nice job on the engine.

But not such a nice job on the chassis. He stuffed it up, and had pulled it apart to try again with it.

You can also see the transmission has also been pulled apart. It also came with these extras. His widow asked me what I can do with the chassis. I said I don't know if its salvageable (it probably isn't).

Which I'll save for my Dragon kits.

Try removing the paint from the chassis. You may re-build the damaged parts. Otherwise, it would be also possible to depict a wrecked exemplar in a dio

Well Frenchy, that makes it easy huh?
I'd try the salvage attempt first. tally up the affected parts to see if all present, then check instructions to see where the builder went wrong? Wreck can always be fall-back choice but convincing wrecks are really hard to pull off.
Good luck!

Thanx for the suggestions guys. I might use the tracks and running gear to improve those in the Tamiya kit. I might even see if I can use the Trumpeter uppers on a Tamiya chassis. As the Tamiya one is dated to say the least.

I'll do that Jeff. I get my money on Thursday so I'll email Trumpeter. That means the kids go without Christmas oh well. I should get the parts by Christmas so I can repair it. Or model a wreck lol. But looking at models they're all wrecks anyway lol

Guess so Jeff. And I meant to say all my models are wrecks, as I'm not the greatest modeler on the planet.

Well, it doesn't seem to me that it would be hard to scratch build a new chassis with some plastic rods and a enough time... Morover, when the wheels are assembled and the vehichle is on a diorama base, chassis will be little visible indeed. You wouldn't make a 100% accurate job
