Saw your posting over at FSM - I like this one a lot because it looks like something that could have been put out there. Great Job Dave!

Looks awesome Animal sir! That thing rocks!
I agree with Gunnie's statement. They should have consulted you before they scrapped it.

Great job Dave!
I think you've just built the ultimate gun truck. I saw the pics online of the real thing. I was pretty sure someone here would finish it for them.
I like it a lot!

WOW! Really superb work there sir. All three are great, but the 'Slammer' is something special. Ya know, you ought to send pics of your 'Alabama Slammer' to the US Army.....after looking at your finished project they might just re-think their decision and reopen the whole thing!!!

My hat's off to ya animal!!

Tread.

This is the one-off Iraq guntruck right? Looks brilliant So it was only a one-off and then scrapped? What was it designed for, convoy support? It is truly a wonderful looking vehicle.

Awesome Slammer! I like it very much. BTW, maybe you can fill in your time to do some storylines for the little side-project? PM me your email address.

Jim, this truck was designed for one thing. Convoy security. They scraped theis one because it was taken the depot too long to convert. We were abel to build 100 trucks in the six months they spent on this one truck. They have the right idea but not the experience of wht would be the best system. They are now building the slide in box type armor fot the gun trucks. We sent them info on how we built them in Vietnam. We made it as a kit form that could be slid intop the cargo bed of a truck. The cab armor is bolted on in just over two hours. It would take a crew of four with a recovery truck about 6 hours to set up a working gun truck.

It wouldnt be the first time a major company has released a vehicle of a prototype. I normally build WW2 stuff but to build the occasional modern when it looks cool. THIS LOOKS COOL!!!!! If somebody released this I would definately build it. Great work animal. I have always loved your work and this one, is at the top along with your tractor and trailer unit! Masterclass!!!!
