Hi guys
I am planning a large diorama. I will hopefully finish it for Telford. However, I need some pics of Soviet armoured columns from the 1950s-1980s (Naval Infantry, Motorised Infantry, Anti-Aircraft....). I want it to feature around 6-8 vehicles, some being the same (e.g. two BMP-1s). I am unable to find out what sort of combos to use. Any pics would be a great help.
Thanks
Euan

Thanks alot Frenchy, very helpful. It would seem that convoys only contain 1-2 types of vehicle. In the last pics you posted, the one with the two MT-LBs at the front, is that a ZSU-23-4 Shilka (the barrel/s look to long) or a T-62? left, last on the road ?(not the one in the very far distance)
Thanks again

Hi Euan;
Yes that is a T-62, I have more pics, of that same colum leaving Afganistan. There is also a Cine film of the Same unit Crossing over the Friendship Bridge, almost all of the Main Battle Tank sent were T-62s and were Modified T-62s with BD armor or Bra armor as it was sometimes called.
Most BMP-2s were seen with Applique armor.
Concords book on the Soviet Invasion has some good pics.

CHEERS; MIKE.

Talking about the artillery column picture, I guess this one has been taken at the very same place :

This picture seem to have at least BMP's, a BTR-60 and a T-62 besides the trucks.

Cheers,

Hi;
There were a lot of pics, of Convoys either entering or leaving the Salang Tunnel area. this Convoy route was the major road leading to Kabul and was a Favorite Anbush spot for the Afganis, Tribes.
