Hello there,

I tried to simulate a wrecked Tiger II, I think it is OK though

Looks awesome! You've done a great job weathering this kitty, and the way it sits deep into the ground in the depression looks very convincing.
Best regards

Very convincing wreck. It really gives the appearence of heavy weight and age. Groundwork and weathering are excellently done.

Very cool! I'd love to see your reference photo. I believe you, for sure. Just weird that the crew would want more armor and more weight on a king tiger. ...maybe That helped them get stuck!?

Just weird that the crew would want more armor

Totally weird right?

Most crews opted to not add extra track to the turret as there were issues with the turret ring jamming if I remember correctly.

If you think that's odd, someone just finished a Marine Sherman with two links of track around the turret. Was also based on an actual vehicle.

Just noticed this Muzaffer, if photos five and six it looks like your base has it's own base?!?

Muzaffer: very nice work. Excellent technique. The only thing that is odd to me is that the rain streaks on the side of the tank are "vertical" to the tank, but not to the base. It seems to me the tank has been sitting there a long time, so the rain would streak straight down relative to the base. Looks great!!

Happy Modeling, -zon

In these pictures you see that there are several track links that are hanged on the turret and the rust streaks are not vertical to the base, just check the sitting position of the little girl

Yo Muzaffer,

Nice layout and groundwork...i see you get your idea from a ref pic. Maybe you could add the three as seen on the photo as well on your diorama.

Nice work!

You're right Nico. At first I was going to put a tree on the base but then left it so. Nevertheless I'll think about it again, thank you.

Your groundwork is fabulous (some of the best I have seen!) and the tank expertly painted. Only one observation however - why is the detached right drive sprocket so heavily weathered compared to the (still fitted) left one?

Perhaps this dio is based on an actual photograph however the detached drive sprocket looks rusted through whereas the left one appears to be predominantly green paint like the rest of the tank?

Overall however this is a deeply impressive dio and well done mate!

Hey Gary,

The detached right drive sprocket is heavily weathered because it is subject to more rain, snow and other factors then the fitted one. That's why I thought that it should be more weathered then the other. Thank you mate

An excellent representation of a damaged Tiger II. Something that I need to improve upon. A side note late war tigers did have added track hangers on the turret according to Waldemar's books. Gives me some impetus to try some more weathering on my vehicles.
