Hi,
you also could use some WW2 Dragon british Infantry sets for sure as basic. The british Uniforms and equipment are the same and for the special ANZAC hats i can advise you to use the follow sets:
Aussie Heads
Slouch Hats
Aussie Slouch Hats
british Felt Bush Hats
Hope this helps
Greetings
Stefan

Hi David,
Sherb and Stefan seem to have covered the “A” part of your question, now for the “NZ” bit.
Distinctive Head gear
North Africa
Firstly the easy one, already covered (excuse the pun) by Sherb and Stefan, the slouch hat. Only worn by those who came from one of the Mounted Rifles Regiments (Cavalry units) and NEVER worn with the brim up, that's an Aussie thing.
Secondly the “Lemon Squeezer”.
There are not many options around, figure wise.
Kiwi Scorpion produced by New World Miniatures. Also if I recall correctly Resicast also produce a LRDG type figure wearing one.
Just a point of note, Lemon Squeezers were mainly a “Base Whallah” dress item.
Pacific theatre
No slouch hats. Lemon Squeezers, same as above.
Also the Infantry wore a forage cap, not unlike the US forage cap.

and
[library_collection]=Photographic+Archive&search[i][subject]=Military+personnel%2C+New+Zealand&search[i][year]=[1938+TO+1948]&search[path]=photos&search[text]=pacific] on Nissan Island
I hope that is of some help.
cheers
