Hello Guys
I've had these photos posted over on Cyber Modeller for a while but I've only recently started building it. I tried to recreate the details as accurately as possible.
For the interior I used:
Legends Humvee Interior set
Pro Art Radio and Communications set
Voyager Humvee seats (for the belts)
Live Resin headphones and personal weapons
various scratchbuilt parts and things from the spares box
so heres the interior:
And the exterior
I cannibalised the etch A/C covers for my Thor build, so I'll have build some of my own for this one, but other than that I only plan on adding the Star antenna and the Metal detector as the vests are too hard to make/sculpt.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers
Anirudh

That looks awesome! Love all the stowage and extra bits. Also, the tires look very realistic. Great job!

Great model, Anirudh Two questions:
- what paint do You use for painting tires?
- these 'vertical' spare ammo boxes on the back GPK's wall: where are they from?
Keep adding the stuff, as much following the walkaround, as it's possible

Thanks Kuba
Of course I will try and add all possible details, or at least as many as my skills permit.
The tyres are painted with a 50/50 mix of Tamiya XF-1 Flat black and Vallejo 70862 Black Grey. I think this has a reasonably good resemblance to real rubber.
The tall ammo boxes are from Live Resin, set no. 35083

Very nice.
Great paint job and detail.Figures work well and I really like your base. What's your method of getting the tire tracks in the groundwork?I have been trying for years and I'm never satisfied with mine.

Great work, Anirudh. I saw the pictures of the model you posted on the Afghanistan Campaign thread. The interior details are top-notch, and you did an outstanding job with the figures and base, too.

Anirudh, nice done. Your interior is well detailed. Overall paint and weathering looks really good. I especially like how your 3 figures turned out, as I've yet to do one that I like.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.
@Tom: the treads were made by running the Academy kits tyres through the clay I used for the base. I waited till the clay was partially dry then ran the tyres through it with a little pressure. I found that rubber tyres deform so you don't get a convincing pattern on the base, but plastic/resin ones work well. The most important thing is to wait till the material you are putting the treads onto is dry to the touch, otherwise it will deform when a tyre is pushed into it.
Thanks Chris and Joel, I had intended this to be a quick OOB build for the campaign but that didn't really happen. I'm really pleased with how the figures turned out especially the shadows and highlights.
The figures were painted with Vallejo acrylics in the following scheme/mix:
DCUs: Iraqui sand, Deck tan and Cavalry brown
Vests, shoes, gloves: 70:30 Khaki grey and Deck Tan
The weathering was a trial and error process using oils and acrylics until I achieved something I was pleased with.
Cheers
Anirudh
