Hi all
I am working on the Young Miniatures 1/10 scale bust of the USMC at Iwo Jima and need some tips on the best way to simulate the herringbone pattern on the fatigues.
Thanks for any help

Paul in all honesty the pattern isn't that noticible in most scales. You have to look close in period photos and even then if you didn't know the pattern existed, you wouldn't know it was there.
The pattern can be successfully replicated by painting as an exercise in light and shadow. The real pattern was visible because the alternating pattern "reflected" light differently. I say reflected but remember this is cotton cloth and has no real reflectivity.
