Speaking of the Tunguska, I finally took some photos of my progress. Added some missing weld beads on the turret. Scratchbuilt the periscopes on the turret as Panda only provides one . Lots of little details to add yet, and those tracks...Overall quite a challenging build - the instructions are confusing at times and some parts are mis-labelled.

It's true, there are some parts that are bad for numbering (PE) as well as those which are not marked with the elbow (no number).
Get ready, soon becoming FRIUL metal tracks, we have been planning the running rollers (3D) optical head unit and prepare for the tower, lack of engine exhaust and cooling, turbine outlet, a few stencils and painting signs.

Looks like Gabor may be kit-bashing the Panda 2S6 chassis with the Tankmania SA-15 Tor turret...

I will build for myself, it will not be built to Tor, not to sell.
Only shown that such can be done in the Panda chassis (conversion).

Juhász, that looks very cool, I'd like to see a Buk-M one of these days! I got a little more work done, slowly but surely. This is not a Tamiya kit!

Put a tarp in the rear rack, but if you do that, the p.e. chains aren't long enough, so I used some spare chain (little too big but not bad). Also had to scratch the upper hinge on the APU? exhaust cover because the floor monster ate the kit piece:


Provided tow cable is pretty good, annealed it to make it softer still.


Note how the p.e. grill wraps around the oval part - at first I put it under and inside which of course didn't work too well...


The small cover on the side was very poorly molded; new one made (should be same size as the lower one on the hull side)


The muzzle velocity sensor thingy was very tricky - small parts and no real attachment points. I replaced the rod with .020" Evergreen and used superglue to attach the parts.


Back end of the turret, some small p.e. and plastic supports for the radar unit which took a while to figure out. Also had to file down the crescent-shaped p.e. piece to fit.


Biggest problem is getting the missile pods to fit parallel with the guns and turret sides. I had to remove the guard(?) part from the gun pods so they would even get close enough; then move out the supports and grind out the mounting points for the pods just to get close. There is no real positive mounting area for the pods, let alone trying to get them moveable.

Looking good so far Jim - and thanks from those of us about to tackle this kit! I was curious if in hindsight you think it might be easier to assemble lengths of track (say 10 or so links) and then attach the guide horns?

Also - is the antenna base your own or did it come with the kit?

Great news Gabor! You guys at HAD don't waste any time! Just in time for my build!

Mr. Music : For these type of tracks I will usually glue a whole run together, let it set up a bit and then form it around the running gear. I had considered doing what you suggested but that would have added a lot of extra time where the individual track sections might set up too fast and then not bend where needed.
The antenna base I stole from a Voyager BMP-3 update set, which in turn will be replaced by something else...hopefully!

By the way, does anyone know which Nationality this Tunguska is? No markings?!

Good looking build Jim. I am still looking at all the small parts... did you pin the tracks in so that they could move, or did you glue them? I built the Resin versin and it met a bad death in my last move, but still have it for comparsion. I look forward to seeing your build painted
