Matthew,

A very detailed and informative review of this kit. It's also nice to see a new Braille manufacturer on the scene and hear that, unlike Dragon lately, their design has been well thought out. Despite the few flaws that you mention (ejector pin marks), this kit looks most impressive. I must say that after having recently built the Dragon PaK 40, that this company's rendition of the same looks to be a very close competitor, especially with the two piece shield and many delicately moulded pieces.

By the way, I wonder where you got the idea for such a simple yet very effective base for your masterpiece?

:D

Cheers,
Jan

Great Review, Matthew!

For those not wishing to pay the outrageous postage from Switzerland (courtesy of the Swiss postal service... ), here's a link to Tamanoir, their distributor with links to local distributors and retailers.

Cheers!

Thanks chaps for the positive feedback on the review. Have started to build the next MPK kit...

Jan, maybe subliminally it popped into my head, and somehow the black goes well with the very simple desert environment - though in fact I remembered that I had planned to try a base with this material some time ago, and got the idea from a Steve Zaloga feature in Military Modelling Magazine; it's cut from a 2mm sheet of Evergreen black styrene sheet. It then came about as I found a local source of it at a train modelling shop in the beautiful town of Slough.

These are not my scale Matt as the old Mk 1 eyeballs are not what they were but great additions for the Braille scale fans it seems.

I recently saw someone building this kit and wondered about it but this review really clarified things. Very informative and the info and Picts are great. If I see this in the local shops I may give it a try.

@firstcircle – matthew,

Very comprehensive and well written review with plenty of close-up photographs showing off the small but delicate parts. Looking forward to adding this one to the stash and also to seeing your rendition on the next MPK kit, I'm sure you'll produce as fine a build as this one is . . .
