I did this as part of a "Kick up the A$$" group build over Christmason the Irish IPMS website. The object was to finish a shelf queen in little more than a week.
Construction finished
Finishing date is tomorrow not sure if painting will be complete by deadline but it has been great fun and the fastest build I've done since I used to buy make and paint those airfix tanks in under an hour

That's got a really nice look about it, Pat. Well done.

Pat, what's the 'Franken' part of this Sherman? I'm guessing it's just all the Sherman parts you could hash together? Looking forward to seeing it finished anyways.

Thanks Jeff
Exactly; I have a large collection of part built Sherman sub assemblies and I cobbled this build together from various bits in the pile a la Dr Frankenstein

Not happy with the decals on this despite coats of future under and over I can still see the decal film.
I know I have a set of 1/35 US Numbers and Letters somewhere in my stash so I am going to sand down the hull sides, repaint and then drive myself nuts for a couple of hours lining up the little numbers and letters and masking them off. NOT HAPPY WITH THAT!

Was wondering what happened to the Franken-Sherman. Sucks about the decals, they look pretty nice but you can see the film even in the photos. And you didn't finish in time for the Kick Up The Ass build too!

I've not done it myself, but I've heard that you can use very fine steel wool and sand down the carrier film around the edges, which will smooth it out.
Might be worth a try...
