Hi everyone,

Did all Jagdpanthers wear zimmerit?? I'm doing a Dragon early Jagdpanther from 3./s.Pz.Jg.Abt.654 in France 1944. The box art doesn't show Zimmerit, however, that doesn't mean it's correct I know.

Can anyone help me out on this? I've already started painting this model without applying any Zimmerit, so hopefully I'll be all right as is!

Thanks,

Si

An interesting fact:

When the WTS in Koblenz (a military archive/museum of the Bundeswehr) restored Jagdpanther 234 they found some Zimmerit and the restauration shows it applied. She is a "later" model with externally bolted. Some sources say she (the tank is named "Ute" on the barrel) was damaged, returned to the producer and rebuild so the Zimmerit on her current configuration is debated

Only the very early JP had zimmerit ..I have never seen a picture of a JP with the bolted mantlet and zimmerit ..The early 654 JPs did though.
