Well, I'm getting pretty far along on my Italeri 1/35 DUKW. I have it primed, painted, and the majority of the decals applied. I am having trouble with one of the decals, however. The instructions have 3 identical sets of serial numbers. Two are used to go on the left and right sides, toward the front. No problem. The third is supposed to go on the back left side. The instructions illustration shows it fitting between two of the ribs, but the length of the serial number won't allow for that. It's too long.

So my question is...do you think I should have the serial number conform over the ribs, or should I split the number with the first couple of digits to the left of the rib and the last numbers to the right of the rib? For the life of me I can't find a photo reference showing the proper way. I found plenty of dukw photos, and even some walkarounds, but none of them happen to have the info I need.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

WOW! Not one reply! I must have stumped you guys!

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about which may help you answer my question. Sorry the colors are way off, but I had to shoot it like that so the white decals would show up on the pale blue paper.

Again I ask, should I split the numbers between the ribs, or have the numbers go right over the ribs?

Thanks for your help

I wanted to look at my kit before i answered ... I'd split it over the rib. Thos numbers have quite a bit of space between them, so I don't think it will look odd.
