I have got alot of help from many people both on and off-line and i'm close to the point of knowing whether i can proceed with my original RMG plan. I think i'm stuck to making some Para's when my little armoured car isn't correct for the MG operational theatre.

Alternatively i have got a 1/72 Sherman (Airfix) but is it a correct version for Arnhem?
Besides that i could also start on a destroyed Panzer 3 M.....

I assume you are building 1/72 ?

I know Preiser sells some modern paratroopers...they could easily be converted to US troopers in WWII. The stocknumber is Preiser "16509"

Thanks for the tip, but i'll be making the Armoured Car after all because i just got the info that the unit i mentioned in my first posting (#1 so to say) was engaged in the MG operation.
