Hi guys,
I normally use tamiya paints but want to move away from them. Can anyone suggest an alternative that's easy to use ?

Hi Paul!
Vallejo. Better than Tamiya, hand or air brush.
Cheers!

Read up on how to airbrush Vallejo. It's VERY different from airbrushing Tamiya.

I have recently switched to Revell Aqua paints. Water-thinable acrylics. Good to brush and to spray, easy to clean.
And since Revell can (at least in germany) found in many toy chains the paint is easier to get than Tamiya.

You donīt say why you want to move away from them, but if you do not have any issues with oil based/enamel paints, Iīd recommend Humbrols. Should be easy enough to get in England and have many advantages over acrylics ... like longer working times, ability to feather/blend colours and they can also be used together with oils. They can be used for washes and dry brushing and also great for spraying from the airbrush. Probably the best all-round paint there is today.

Frank.
No particular reason, just fancied a change but also feel limited by the colour range.. yes they can be mixed to gett different shades/colurs. But majority of models show Vallejo colour recommendation in instructions ..
I've never tried enamels, and I'm happy to stick with acrylics..

Not trying to sound alarmist, with the current policies in regards to paint in general and upcoming changes. Oil based paint will soon be eliminated in all its formats. Ie. trying to find an exterior oil based paint is dam near impossible.
