I am currently building scratch/converting a M123A1C tractor and M15A1 trailer. I have the wheels from the Tamiya dragon wagon kit and am wondering if anyone out there has any idea if the tires would fit on 1/25th scale tractor trailer wheels. The correct wheels are a ten-bolt, 5 or 6 slotted civilian style since the M123 was based on a heavy Mack truck. I don't want to buy a whole 1/25th truck kit to find out the wheels don't fit. Any help would be appreciated.

let me get this clear. You wanna take Dragon wagon wheels and put them on a 1/25 scale tractor? The scale is waaaaaaay off. Please advise your intent. Todd

That's an interesting question Gino. I don't have a 1/25 or 1/24 scale truck handy to slip the hub into Tamiya's DW Wheels to see if it would fit. It might actually, but hasten to say so for sure without trying it...

It might be that you are into some serious abuse issues here; if not, then you might consider building the Tank Workshop 1.35th scale M123A1C 10 ton tractor. It was quite a handful to build, personally speaking. MMiR had an article that covered this kit, and constructing the kit would have been almost impossible without the references it provided. Mine is still holding a spot in the closet, built but with no trailer,,,,, I may display it using a tow bar to pull an M113.

I'm not a masechist, I just prefer to scratch-build as oppposed to spending big bucks on aftermarket and resin, can't justify it to the wife either. Build is not really that difficult, just takes time. I'm using Dragon Wagon and old Renwal/Revell wrecker kit as basis with lots of 5-ton and other parts added. I'll eventually post some pictures when it gets to the point where it looks like an M123A1C. Wheel issue is giving me problems now. I'm not satisfied with Dragon Wagon wheels. Look OK, but not accurate.

OK now I get it. The answer is no. You would be closer using a monogram 1/32 scale rig kit say like a Kenworth or Mack. OR solve all your problems and get the Verlinden assorted wheel set.....already in 1/35. Hope this helps. Todd

Nope, already tried 1/32nd truck wheel, still too small. Hoping someone out there has a 1/24th or 1/25th truck wheel and a dragon wagon tire to compare for me. Gunnie, any luck?

Not yet - I was planning to sneak down to the Hobby Shop cutting outta work early today ('cause it's my Birthday) and see if I can play with some of the '24/'25 scale trucks there...

Happy birthday and thanks for the help. I wish I could do the same, but closest hobby shop is hour and a half away. Being stationed in the middle of the Mojave Desert (Ft Irwin/NTC)sucks for modeling.

If you have any of the M-925 serieswheels from the Iteleri kit you can cut out the wheel of the dragon wagon wheel and replace it with the m-925 one. This wheel has six slot ten lug pattern on it. I have done this on a couple times.

I think Animal's idea is a good one. I went to the Hobby Shop last night, but didn't find any suitable toy wheels that could work well in your project. I can easily envision Animal's idea, however...

Try contacting the tank workshop and see if they will sell you a set of wheels from their 123 kit. I know they have a wheel set for the dragon wagon which I used for my Peerless Max M15a1. Their mailing address is on the box so M75 can get it to you. My kit is built and the box disposed of.
