Hi,
I need to paint my M1000 tires & rims soon and wondered what color the rims are in real life?
The instruction says "green" but when I look at these pictures they seem black to me.
So can anyone clarify this for me? Green or Black? or a combination of both?
I am creating a woodland M1000 trailer
Thanks!

Thanks for the great answer!
Its good to keep that in mind.
Wonder why HobbyBoss would say it needs to be painted green then, well they say the underside of the trailerbed needs to be painted green as well when it should be black.
Thanks!

Well it depends really. Brand new trailers have grey rims, refurbished trailers have black rims. Ive seen plenty of these in real life. Also refurbished trailes whether nato or tan camo have black undersides were as brand new trailers are either nato or tan are completely camoed.

Good to hear that from someone who speaks from experience!
I will keep that in mind, and remain to to black rims.

Yup,
Saw a spare tire mounted on a NATO-flage M1000 in gray back in Korea in 2000. The female driver swapped it out on the roadside as quick, if not quicker, than a NASCAR pit team. Quite impressive.

as i looked at the pics you provided i noticed that one of the wheels has a light gray rim and the one closest looks to me as though it is light gray as well and has a heavy coat of brake dust (which is black)on it i believe you could get away with painting the wheels black or green i dont beleive that any unit commander would let a light gray wheel stay that color on a camo piece of equipment i also think think your photos show a vehicle in a depot in my expirence once in the field a can of black spray paint is the cheapest and easiest way to camo the rims hope this helps

Unless of course you can find someone who actually sees this equipment everyday as I do you will never get a right answer. I explained the difference between trailers and wheel colors. New trailers received brand rims which were GRAY and where not reprinted.
