or underneath the transmission cover (no ref pictures) do they actually refer to the factory or to the spcific thank? and is there a link to cross-reference these numbers and produce an accurate tank? ps or am I getting too old and picky?

Yes, that's true... But I also think that a too big attention to details can lead to frustration and "paralysis"

I think that's one af the reason why I have too many unfinished projects on my workbench. I really wish I could make my kits strictly out of the box

I remember reading something about. These numbers and letters are referred to the year, the exemplar and the factory

But to be honest I really don't know the interpretation key for that kind of codes...
