Hi Gang,
I noticed that Pelican cases are now a common sight on US Army exercises. Maybe this a long shot but can anybody point me out which are the most common/popular cases? I saw that Pelican produces a large selection of cases for every purpose so I have to choose which one I have to scratchbuild.
TIA

PM me your email address. I'll take some photos of mine and how it is set up. We also have a larger pelican case for teams - each holds six M4s, six pistols (our choice) and optics. I have detailed photos of those as well. Can you guess why?
And yes, Pro art does have them, but I don't know if they have opened ones.

Hi there,
thanks for the tip, but ProArt has mainly civil Pelicans. I look for Pelican Hardigg cases.

Did you see those included in J's Work set PPA4001 ?
(although I'm not sure they are Pelican ones...)

I just took some shots of my Pelican. I've decided to post them here for everyone's benefit. The cutouts are not quite right any more as I've added equipment. No room for my ACOG either. I've got another piece of foam I'll be cutting for it. We should be seeing something like this soon, as well as the larger team version.
Frenchy, I think this is the photo you meant to post. Someone in the army may use those,(lower left) but those aren't the ones we use as team weapon cases.

The cases in the J's Work set look like the one our USAF units deploy with, they usually had around twenty M-16s in a case, and it was for mass unit deployments.
My Pelican case has my M-4 and M-9 in it, still plenty of room to cram extra mags in it, and I don't have to take the M68 off the rifle. Glad the case has wheels, not a fan of carrying the case everywhere when deploying
My unit uses a lot of the different Pelican cases to store our test equipment for working the aircraft. Everything from a simple voltmeter, to delicate diagnostic testers.

This is the one we use for team weapons. Of course all services have different Pelicans for different components - and I think we'll see a set soon that reflects that.

Pro Art Models probably has the Pelican Cases you're looking for.

Customs inspection... Good times... There are some other tough boxes out there too. Also the London Bridge Trading load out bags have gotten awfully popular. I used one on deployment and just bought another one. http://lbtinc.com/bags-backpacks-packs/bags/load-out-bags/large-wheeled-load-out-bag-with-padding-3.html

Most of the Pelican boxes I saw on deployment were off the shelf molded in subdued colors, I have two in black and one coyote. I know you're looking for the Hardigg cases, but the Pro Art set is definitely useable, and well worth the money.

The Pro Art ones are nice. If no one is excited about opened ones though, then there's really no point in making them.

Would it include weapons or other items inside? or mix with some emtpy ones? I don't know how would one do the foam if you needed to scratcbuild that. Styrene would be too thick to cut out right?

On a side note, J's Work boxes can be opened (that's what the blocked picture in my post was showing ) . Here's a better link :

Could be a job for Yaroslav at Live-Resin. I mean Live-Resin makes all the modern U.S. weapons now, so why not the Pelican cases opened with the guns in them? Someone needs to show Yaroslav this thread.

I'm liking this one a whole lot. My wallet is already begging for mercy though... I want this set, got to start saving my pennies again.
