I know Tamiya paints have some detractors, like not being great for brushing, but I've gotten to the point where I really like them. They mix well with either water or alcahol and they spray fine through my airbrush. I like the fact that since almost all of my kits are Tamiya when a kit calls for XF26, I can go right to my shelf and know what color that is. I also like how the large lid is easy to grip and open, easier than the little bottles. Finally I think they are decent value, $2.89 for the 23ml bottle at my LHS, compared to $2.49 for the 10ml Tamiya paints, or about the same for the 14.7ml bottle from Model Masters. The point to all this is the last two times I've gotten new, larger, Tamiay paints the guy at the hobby store said they are getting harder and harder to get. Is this true? Is Tamiya going away from this larger size and down to the smaller, 10ml, bottle?

I can only find the larger bottles at one local store any more. I think they are moving away from them.

If you can find the larger bottles still then they are old stock....Tamiya has gone completely to the smaller bottles now......which really screws me up....I have a custom built paint rack measured for the large bottles!!! #:-)

I actually quite like the smaller Tamiya bottles. They fit my airbrush perfectly leaving no wastage, and when they're empty I have a new bottle that fits my airbrush for a custom mix.

My local shop still has all bigger bottles.... but if this is the case they will probably soon be going small. I should go and stock up.
