What colors do you use for the SS camo? I'm trying all sorts of colors but none seem to get the job done.

Awesome build my friend

Well, really nice dio!
Is the building homemade?
I would add some filters to the SScamo, looking a little too "flashy" IMHO

Conor

Thanks for looking and the kind comments.

I use the vallejo range of colours for the camouflage in particular tank brown, dark yellow, uniform green although there are lots of coulours to choose from.

If you go on line and look at some of the German uniform camoflage paterns you should be able to match the colours pretty well with vallejo.

Cheers

Thanks for looking and the kind comment.

I take on board what you have said about the camo on the uniforms and they do look a bit bright.

Sorry I forgot to add the building is from the mini art range which although I find quite hard to build look good when painted up.

The figures look amazing! I get the camo bug, every so often. But, it looks like you were bit hard! Nice weathering on the FH18. My only suggestions would be to shore up the back of the building. You can leave a hole or two, to get the view looking out through the windows. The only other thing is that you don't seem to have a back story or focal point. Am I supposed to be looking at the Waffen SS or the SP?

Mat

Thanks for looking and the positive comments.

The dio is supposed to represent the SP going through a small village and its infantry escort checking a house to see if they can obtain plunder food or whatever.

The building has an open back as there is just enough detail to make the interior of the house.

Due to lack of funds I painted the internal walls floors and put curtains up to maybe detail the interior at a later date.

Cheers

Hi Gerry. I see a lot of improvement in your model, from your first posts. This is a quality model. One suggestion I would make is to work more with your paint chipping. The "base coat" lines on the side armor do not look very natural. They are all too similar (length and width, colour, etc). There are many ways to improve on this from hairspray weathering or even see the following link for some inspiration from MIG.

This is good! Looks like SS troops fighting in Arnhem during 'Market Garden'.

Nice work! The camo is impressive, must have taken some time. I agree that the mini art buildings are time consuming to build, but they do paint up nice.

I'm currently working on a similar dio layout currently, so thanks again for sharing and keep up the nice work.
