I plan on building a Panther G with the hatches removed so you can see the engine compartment...Im using Dragon kit 6370...so far I have come across offerings from Verlinden, Tank Workshop, and CMK...does anyone know which is the better of the three...Does anyone else make engine compartments other than the three I listed above...If so, how do they compare? Which is best?

Hi Michael
If it's only for a "through the hatch" engine, I'd go for a simple drop in, as the old verlinden or the Tamiya engine set, but if the whole deck is going to be removed, the more detailed set from CMK or the new set from Verlinden would be better. The latter sets are more expensive, but much more detailed, but all that would be locked away, if the only visible area are what can be seen through the engine hatch.
Just my personal opinion.
Best regards
Jacob

Michael,
I've used the Tamiya engine kit for a Dragon Panther diorama that can be seen through the open hatch which worked very well, but you can only see a small portion of the engine. And I've used the Verlinden engine set for a better view of the engine on a different tank which was more extensive than the Tamiya kit. But if I were going to do it again I would be willing to try the CMK version since it looks more complete if you are going to expose the entire compartment.
Good luck.
Kevin
