Can anyone provide information on what vehicle(s) towed the British 6" howitzer in North Africa or in France 1940?

Bill - I don't know if this fits in your timeframe, but I found this line, "Accurate Armour currently do a selection of early, mid and late ACE Matadors that were the prime mover for this one.", in this thread: http://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/199056&page=1
Hope it helps.

Another vote for the AEC Matador (although this picture has been taken in Scotland in 1941)
Matadors were used by the BEF in 1940 :

the b.e.f went to france with 6inch howitzers some regiments appear not to have recieved their matadors and so they still used the scamell gun tractor usually with ammunition limber attatched. the same applies to 60 pdr guns. In BURMA 8th medium regt. 4 corps. had their matador gun tractors replaced with mack nos 7&half tonners as prime movers for their 5.5 howitzers/feild guns. the 6 inch howitzers at this time were issued one battery plus three batterys of 5.5s per regt with common prime movers each battery was also issued one cattapiler probably d6 for clearing jungle gun posisions and filling dried up river beds for road making

with regard to 6 inch gun tractors used in north africa the dedicated gun tractor was the matador. however the excelent reference work by bart vanderveen refers to a 6 wheel cmp cabbed gun tractor for the 6 inch which may have been supplied to indian or australian artillery regts hope this helps.the resicast kit instructions include a photo of a bef regt using a limber with flat section mudgaurds that i have so far failed to identify. help and comments welcome

No 1/35 styrene Matador - the only one I know of is Accurate Armour, perhaps Resicast also do one but I'm not sure.

Not in 1/35th scale unfortunately...
(and I guess it's in fact in 1/76th scale)

The Accurate Armor kits look very nice, but they're quite pricy.
