Ah, the ol' color debate. This can go on forever, and in truth there never really is a right answer to it. If you want my opinion, it looks good enough to me that I didnt notice notice its shade.
As for the snow, I think you proved your point with the pics you posted. I often fin that things in real life dont actually follow the laws we think they do!
I really like the figures, but I was looking for a bullet wound on the Russian soldier. The only question I have is why is he on the ground in pain? It doesnt look like he has been shot or hit with shrapnel. Your figures are beutifully painted, by the way
