Hi all,
I do like to think that I know a bit about WWII German
vehicles, until I saw this box art. I purchased a 2cm Hängelafette Turret from VM models for a conversion I intend to do, and now have a question to the box art:
What the hell is that in the top left corner
Thanks for any help that might come in.
Paul

Paul,
acoording to Spielberger, it`s a Leichter Panzerspähwagen (2cm) neu. It was a late war prototype on the Schwerer Einheits-Personenkraftwagen intended as a replacement for the SdKfz. 222
You could also say it`s a Puma 4x4.

Cheers

Hi Nige,
yes that seems to be one way round it , but I´m going to need a lot more info than just that one picture there.
It´s time to ask the net I think.

Ola Paul
Some years ago I started on a variant of this type of panzerwagen allthugh it differs a bit from the drawing you posted. It was a kit from Ironside and consisted of a Resin body with the side storage bins with Italeri parts to make the vehicle. I detailed it with evergreen a metal barrel. Resin wheels, and bits of leftover PE.
Here is a pic of it
It is a fun kit probably you still can get it at the ADV Azimut site. I believe I bought it once second hand on an event. Sadly I have to find a replacement Puma turret as I screwed up the barrel and attachment.

I think Cromwell do a 35th resin version ? ... if you care to wait for 6 mths to never delivery.
I only found one page on this vehicle but it did have 3 photos of the two prototypes.
You could do a "production" version from a plastic kit -- I did try years ago but found that the tapering of the upper hull made it a bit harder than first thought (rear sides).
