Hi,
just wondering : I read that after a week or so fighting on Crete, the Fallschirmjäger got support from two Panzer II's from the 5th coy of the 31st Panzer regt of the 5th Pz Division ...
Is there more detailed information available on this, and which 1/35 kit should I use - Dragon 6432 ?
Thanks for your help

Thanks !!
Good photo ! I think you can actually see the yellow 'X' divisional insignia on the tank, great. Don't see the red devil's head on the turret though, but it may have been there too !

In the book "German Armor and Special Units of WWII" there are a series of about 6 or 8 photos showing the two tanks en route and during the unloading process (they had to blow the bow off a barge after unloading them)the tanks belonged to the 4 company and were # 431 and 432 the markings were as follows national cross, divisional X marking then the vehicle #'s. they did have the regimental devils face on the forward portion of the turret sides. For some real inspiration for a interesting diorama of them unloading you should really check out the above mentioned book, they go for around 60.00 on amazon. hope this helps

.... well thank you for the tip ! I found an online free downloadable copy of this book and you're right, excellent pictures in this book, all that one needs to do a Kreta Pz II.
I guess the Dragon late ausf C (kit n° 6432) is the one to go for ?

You really need to share that link on where to get free downloads for books like that, cause i spent 60.00 bucks on my copy and that could be a treasure trove of research material, and if its free life couldn't get any better.

I just did a google for the title you mentioned, and 'bang', first link I clicked was where I could do a free download - if you register on their site it's a matter of seconds, if not it takes about 15 minutes to download.
I have saved the Pdf, if the forum administrators want it to use as reference for modellers here, then I'll gladly send the file.
I'd like to post the photo's you mentioned with the pz II on Kreta here i this thread, but will the forum owners allow that ? After all a free download isn't really legal perhaps ?
Anyway thanks for the tip on the book, you really helped me a lot !
