Hi Guys,
for quite a wehle, I think about a diorama with an EOD team in Iraq. I have MaiM`s Iraqi street scene and Cromwells Cougar.
I wonder have many soldiers are onboard a Cougar JERRV? I will use Legends Robot Controller and some more soldier pulling security around. Would it be likely that one soldier in the OGPK cupola, manning the machine gun?

An EOD team is usually 4 personnel. The 6x6 version can carrry up to 10 personnel, but that is usually in the non-EOD role. It would be very appropriate for one crewman to be up in the turret ring manning the MG for security.

I asked my buddy Dave who's Active Army EOD. In Afghanistan he rolled with a driver and two techs, they would pick up a fourth for gunner if they had to but usually they'd try to get someone from their security element to gun or drive to free up the techs. Security outside of movement to and from the site isn't their job, that's the role of their security element so the gun might not be manned while they are working.
Also keep in mind while a team is 4 Soldiers, they are in high demand so they might have the team split up with different units.

From what I've have scene watching Bomb Patrol Afghanistan, the Navy EOD teams comprise of three members. A driver for the JERRV, the team leader in the passenger seat who also walks down on target and the man sitting in the back who is in charge of the robot, gun turret and the camera that is mounted on the JERRV. The JERRV's also carry two of the talon robot and a smaller packbot. I hope this helps

Hi guys,
thanks for the insights. I keep that in mind when I do the diorama. Great to have so many experts here!
