Ok, building on my Sd.KFZ 10/5 Pak 38 is coming on and I am beginning to feel adventurous and want to personalise it a bit. I have had a genearal look on google and found some nice Sd.KFZ 10 (not the version I am building) pictures and have some ideas on extra stowage etc. One of the things I particularly like is the wheel arch brackets on the Flak 38 version used for stowage... so I was thinking
would it be an "acceptable" to say my 10/5 PaK38 had a damaged right wheel arch, the only salvageable one was form a Flak38 version -> I get the bracket on one arch (could then add some gear or logs)?
was thinking that if this was a repair perhaps slightly different paint (more damaged rather than "brand new"), and if so - does anyone know at what point in the chassis the front wheel arch would be removed & replaced (assuming where it hits the running board)...
following on from this - I have some spare track, would a halftrack carry spare tracks as a tank would? could drape it over the radiator (but that may have a bundle of logs and tow rope as I have photographs of that being done) or perhaps over the spare wheel on the back (so held by wire draped over the wheel).....
anyway, just pondering so any thoughts you have would be greatly received

Have seen pictures of 251 Half Tracks with half a dozen links of track hung across the nose plate between the tow hooks or sitting on top of nose in front of engine doors .
I think a few dents or buckleing from say hitting a lamp post might be ok , but total destruction of a fender would probably take out the wheel as well , but look up some photos on te web , its surprising how much damage a vehicle can take and still be mobile if people are shooting at you .

thanks - will have a look... the problem with the kfz 10 is that there isnt actually much too the wheel arch - looked at it the other day and couldnt work out how a wall/lampost would really do more than scrape without damaging the weel (which is what you are getting too)... may explain it as a field mod then (like a driver was admiring a similar vehicle and though that the extra stowage would be good and saw how the bracket was made...
