I've been working on some LRRP figures and I've noticed that a lot of them have painted faces when they go out on missions. How can I achieve this in 1/35 scale using tamiya paints.

Alex, at the risk of sounding flippant, I would determine what colors you want to use. Iim assuming earth tones here. Then find an appropriate Tamiya color or mix two or three to get what you want. Trial and error.
Then I'd use a very fine brush to paint the pattern on the faces.
If it were me, I wouldn't use Tamiya acrylic paints for this. I'd use oil paints from Winsor and Newton. THey have a much slower drying time to ease in blending the paints together.

I've used washes or stains to good effect. Camo paint , as it wears Nd is sweated thru, becomes translucent. . Good luck.
