Are you actually getting a message that says you are banned? Or can't access that area, etc?
Jim

A message that I am banned for my behaviour (yeah, straight up) when I think of the way that others behave in the chatroom...Roo, Dave Tong and others... Jim
Posted: Friday, November 14, 2003 - 07:29 AM UTC
Okay...this is stupid. I am getting the same banned message too and I am the only manager in the group. Not only that but if I go to the ArmoramaUK site and use the chat there it's fine.
What the hell is going on??
This better not have something to do with me giving Dave host (gavel) priviledges the other week. Dave???

Jim, I did try and warn you...but no, you just had to give Dave his Mk3 Gavel(tm)... He's probably lurking in there having some kind of weird ceremony....Jim

I have emailed MSN and let them know about the problem.
Thanks,
Jim

I got the banned message and I don't think I was ever in the MSN chatroom to begin with. I also used to be listed as a "manager" and could approve new members or delete/ban porn users. I noticed I've been relegated to "member" status.

Rob,
Sorry I should have let all the former Managers and Assistants know this. Because of all the new automated SPAM sign-ups I am getting (about 10 a week) I decided to change the member addition from being automated to one where an admin has to approve each new member. Luckily all that spam accounts are ussually names like "wannawatchmeundress343873" so knowing which are which is pretty easy.
So basically I moved everyone else back to member status because otherwise you would be getting these emails as well.
Cheers,
Jim

Pete

Rest easy Jim, Dave's goldie was gone the next night in chat--and the poor guy was "bawling like a baby".

True. I guess now I am worried they locked it down because of some other reason. It just doesn't make sense that other chats are working and ours isn't.
Hopefully they will get back to me soon. (but I am not counting on it).
Until then there is always our meager chat room!

Paul,
They have it posted that those changes will only affect non MSN Groups chat areas. And then only outside North America.
Cheers,
