Hi Darrell,
I´m using following brands and their colors:
1st place is definitely Revell Aqua Color, you can mix every color you want and the colors are great for painting, with brush or airbrush. I´m not sure if they are available in the U.S.
2nd place for some special colors is Humbrol acrylic,
3rd place is Mr. Hobby Super Metallic colors for great metallice effects on tanks or aircrafts. Easy to use and highly recommended. My recommended supplier for this brand is:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mr-HOBBY-Super-Metallic-Color-SM01-Super-Fine-Silver-/140904405820?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item20ce8e9b3c

Hi Darrel, I use an online hobby shop out of Merrimack New Hampshire called Scalehobbyist, http://www.scalehobbyist.com/index.php ,
They carry the full range of Tamyia, Model Master,Alclad,Vallejo, and Woodland Scenics. Altho they list MM as Testors. Great people to work with, never gotten an order wrong, and never had any delays.
Look them up, it's worth it.

www.hobbylinc.com is also a good place to find paints. They carry several brands at affordable prices.

I'm also with Bruce and Jeff on using Scalehobbyist. They also have some of the best prices out on many kits.

Hi Darrell, I use only Tamiya in my air brush and vallejo for brushing since tam paint does not brush well at all. Afterward you have to find a online shop with the right price and a fair shipping rate. I tend to order paint when I order a new kit for the stash. Usually sprue brothers...Fast and no fuss.
Happy modeling.

Hi Darrell,
I can't comment on shops in the US, but as far as paints I use I can recommend Tamyia (with their own thinners) for airbrushing and Vallejo Model Colour for brush painting. I have used Revell Aqua Colour, but the pots are badly designed and the paint 'goes off' far too quickly because of it. I also use some Games Workshop products for figure painting and their washes and texture paint for detailing.
All the best,
Paul

I guess I'm really lucky as I have a fantastic, super stocked LHP, Shore Shore Hobbies here in Suffolk county on Long Island. I rarely have to buy paints online, but when I do, it's from Sprue Brothers. Great prices, and fantastic service/shipping.
As for what brands I use, it's Mostly Tamiya Acrylics, followed by Testors Model Master Acrylics. I've just started playing around with LifeColor paints and they're really outstanding.

South Shore Hobbies, which we've always called Bobby's is located on Saxon Ave, just south of Sunrise Hwy in the Target Shopping center. He's right next to the Bagel shop.

Hi fellow Atlanta area person.
The Hobbytown USA in Kennesaw actually had a very good selection of paints, better than AAA did. Tamiya (including both small and large bottles), Vallejo, Testors, Humbrol, etc.
Also, the Atlanta region of AMPS meets on the 1st Saturday of every month at the same Hobbytown USA in Kennesaw. We've got a pretty decent group, typically between ~12-20 folks show up.
Additionally, we have our regional AMPS show in 2 weeks! http://www.ampsatlanta.org/Atlanta_Show_Information_9C.html
It's at the Marriot on I-85. Come stop by and look around.
Also, check your inbox (top right of the page)
