Hey everyone
As some of you know, in just under a month, Central Connecticut Scale Modelers is hosting a day long seminar with Joe Farina, Steve Reid and Iain Hamilton.
Here is a link to the seminar flyer for any who are interested. We still have seats available:

I was fortunate enough to meet with Steve and Joe and they gave me a sample of the stuff that each participant in the seminar will receive. I took some time and painted them up, just to show the potential that they hold. First, to show you what you'd be working with:
Everyone who participates in the seminar will get this base - it is an industrial ruin. The pit at the center can be left open, or as you see in the picture, a cover is provided:
In addition, there will be some pipes and various nozzles and fitting as well. These fit together to make a section of pipeline:
Then a few quick shots to show you what I was able to do with it. Initial painting with some weathering on the base, pipes painted and in place:
Next with some work done on the tower and the circular cover, as well as some chipping and weathering on the pipeline:
Tower on the base:
Now it is time to bust out the AK products and see what I can do to this thing!
These seminars are a ton of fun. Hope you can all attend!

Hey this seminar day is coming up in a few weeks and they only have ten seats left. I've been to 3 of these and they are incredibly fun and relaxing. It's like a spa day for us modeler guys. Everything is hands on, with guided instruction from a master. You need no prior experience with scenics, but you'll know what you're doing by the end of the day. Plus you get to chat with other modelers as you go, and you get to do lunch with everybody, which turns into a round robin Q&A to answer every question about anything. It's like a one day modelers camp and you're missing a fantastic day if you don't go.
